Ph.D.. in Architectural Design MAA and MSCA grant winner Carmen García Sánchez
The first summary of my individual research project NATURE-IN, New sustainable Nature-inclusive architectural devices for the transformation of our interior dwelling space: through selected case studies, funded by a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship, has just been published on the official website of the European Commission, CORDIS.
You are welcome to read the three different sections :
1._ Summary of the context and overall objectives of the project.
2._ Work performed from the beginning of the project to the end of the period covered by the report and main results achieved so far.
3._ Progress beyond the state of the art and expected potential impact (including the socio-economic impact and the wider societal implications of the project so far)
Nature-In provides a catalogue of sustainable practical design strategies, resources, recommendations and inspiration for implementing the nature-inclusive architectural resources of the buildings studied into building practice (some publications still in progress). It , brings together architectural research and practice.
The Nature-In communication activities have made the research useful for researchers, design practitioners and students, policy makers and society. It has stimulated interest and debate on nature-inclusive design across different sectors.
The action has fulfilled and highlighted all the main objectives , among them: the creation of strong and invaluable collaborations between scientific institutions: in Japan (School of Environment and Society, Department of Architecture and Building Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITECH)) and in the European Union, (the Institute of Architecture and Design at The Royal Danish Academy Architecture Design Conservation, the research Centre for Privacy Studies PRIVACY, at the Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen (UCPH) and Department of Design, Interior Architecture and Furniture Design, Konstfack University of Arts, Crafts and Design in Stockholm). I have been integrated into highly interdisciplinary and international research environments with the support of the Head of the MA studies at among many others from my host institution. But the support and knowledge generosity of Associate Professor Dr Ryo Murata from TITECH, Professor Dr Mette Birkedal Bruun from UCPH, Professor Kristina Fridh from Konstfack have been particularly exceptional.
I am grateful to the European Union’s H2020 Research and Innovation Programme for the full funding support under the MSCA grant agreement number 896651. I would also like to thank the Danmarks Grundforskningsfond / The Danish National Research Foundation DNRF138 for their support.
