I am pleased to have participated in the Nordic Edge Expo 2026 in Stavanger. My talk on biophilic human-centred design and Nordic cities inspired collective action.
In an era of environmental crisis, we are gradually becoming disconnected from Nature. This detachment from the natural world deprives communities of the proven social and individual benefits of daily interaction with Nature and undermines the efforts of hashtag#ecosystem protection initiatives.
Drawing inspiration from the New European Bauhaus's core values of sustainability, aesthetics, and inclusion, my talk emphasised the importance of reintegrating nature into Europe's cities as a vital component of sustainable urban living. It is also imperative that we change the way we relate to nature.
I called for a necessary city revitalisation through creative placemaking, which involves protecting cultural identity and integrating art, and re-naturing the city.
It was wonderful to see how engaged the participants were with the ideas that emerged.
